Meet Johanna Optew

Optew didn’t begin as some grand vision. It started late at night in a college dorm, with Johanna Optew turning over the thought that simple things—like a toy—can turn a kid’s whole day around.

She wasn’t out to launch a brand. She just wanted to put something good into the world. Nothing flashy, nothing overpriced, and nothing that tried to impress parents instead of actually making kids happy.

That’s when she realized this was bigger than she thought. People actually trusted her idea.

Today, Optew keeps growing, but honestly, the reason we do this hasn’t changed.

We’re here to offer toys that feel right—simple, joyful things that actually make kids’ lives better. We’re not chasing trends or filling shelves for the sake of it.

Johanna’s still in the thick of it, making sure we don’t stray from why Optew started in the first place.

And even though we’re proud of what we’ve built, we know there’s a lot more ahead.
